Tarnished
angel with wings rusty brown
A once glowing halo and holy crown
Your heavenly smile reversed to a frown
Yet despair could never keep you down
Blessed angel with eyes ever so blue
Filled with tears by the fresh morning dew
An inner strength buried inside of you
Worn like a shield but kept out of view
Precious angel with a love so tender, so pure
A heartbreak that not even time will cure
Only the highest powers help you to endure
A survivor of the truest sacrilege for sure
Ghostly angel hidden behind your clear veil
So many secrets you are unable to tell
Silent memories swirl deep in the swell
Given up only in prayer each night without fail
Garden angel treated so cruel and crude
Cleansed by faith and a positive attitude
With some TLC and a spirit renewed
Youre no longer saddened or subdued
Guardian angel and a symbol of sheer will
I moved you inside to my window sill
Where you stand every day, graceful but still
An inspiration to others who want to be healed |
