of North Carolina, where Merle
Haggard first heard them play and invited
them on the road, The Malpass Brothers
are pictured backstage with the legend,
Merle Haggard. Once again, Merle invited
the traditionalists to open a show for
him, this time in Raleigh. The brothers
toured with Merle and worked with Hag
Records for 6 years before signing with a
new record label. Chris and Taylor
Malpass recently released their
self-titled album on Organic Records.

myself and people that I knew when I was
young. They have their hearts into what
we call ‘traditional’ country
music. It’s valuable to me that we
cultivate the young talent for that kind
