Tim McGraw Bring the First
Annual Show Me Music Fest
To a Close and the Audience to Their Feet!
Sunday night marked the end of
the first annual Show Me Music and Arts Festival,
bringing to a close three full days of
entertainment from top musical acts including Tim
McGraw, Trace Adkins, Train, OneRepublic, REO
Speedwagon, Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson,
and many more.
With 10 months of preparation, 11 days of on-site
construction, and over 165 staff working around
the clock, Show Me Music Fest was the first event
of its kind in the area, and judging by the
reaction of the three-day aggregate attendance of
34,000 fans who traveled to the 350 acre
Springfield Underground site, the festival was a
great success! Sunday drew the largest
attendance, featuring rock band OneRepublic and
international country superstar Tim McGraw, who
both kept the crowd on its feet through the very
end.
"As a first year festival, we couldn't be
happier with the support we've received from the
city of Springfield and the surrounding
areas," expressed Show Me Music Fest
managing partner Rex Winslow. "We were so
thrilled with the talent that participated, and
the fan response was overwhelming. Thank you to
everyone who helped make this a huge
success!"
Additional entertainment throughout the festival
included national HBO and Comedy Central
comedians at the Comedy Stage, regional and
national musical acts at the Saloon Stage, and
Celebrity Food Network chefs in the Chef Pavilion
including Dinner: Impossible star
Robert Irvine who captivated the crowd with his
direct and charming personality.
Several fundraising efforts to benefit the
community of Joplin, MO took place over the
weekend as well, including silent and live
auctions featuring numerous donations from all
around the nation with items from the historic
Ryman Auditorium, Little Big Town, Gloriana,
Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, George Jones, and many
more. The live auction also included three items,
a pair of boots, a guitar, and a hat, all signed
by every artist who performed at the Show Me
Music and Arts Festival.
Show Me Music and Arts Festival was produced by
Conway Entertainment Group out of Nashville, TN
and its concert production company CEG LIVE.
"This event has great potential,"
states Conway Entertainment Group owner Tony
Conway, " I foresee it growing into one of
the finest music & camping festivals in the
country."
With top musical acts, entertainment, vendors,
charity auctions, camping and more, the Show Me
Music and Arts Festival had it all, proving that
Show Me Music Fest was THE place to be this past
weekend!
