Brenda L. MaddenThe “Young” name is renowned in music circles around the world. Country Music Hall Of Fame member, Faron Young, had a string of hits throughout his forty year career including “Hello Walls” and “It’s Four In The Morning.” Although Faron is gone, the “Young” name is again claiming some well-deserved recognition. Robyn Young, son of the legendary hit-maker, is recording, performing and entertaining crowds around the world!

Robyn YoungRobyn’s roots go deep into country music royalty, not only being the son of the “Singing Sheriff,” but also the great, great grandson of Uncle Dave Macon (the first star of the Grand Ole Opry). Ironically, it was the Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show that sparked his first interest in playing guitar, but years later while he was performing at his father’s night club, Faron Young’s Jailhouse, Robyn’s passion for traditional country music was born. He soon became a featured headliner at the club and later filled that same role at another Nashville hotspot, George Jones’ Possum Holler.

In those early years of his career, he found himself often traveling the road with his father opening shows throughout the United States and Canada. Those treasured memories left an imprint on Robyn that continues to influence his recordings today and the way he approaches his music and the respect he has for his fans. Brought up in the days when artists spent 250 to 300 days a year crisscrossing America with just a guitar in hand entertaining and meeting fans. It’s that kind of grass-roots effort that Robyn continues today - singing at every opportunity and glad to meet and thank those that support his traditional country music style.

Ending 2012 with a #1 song on the Indie World Chart, “Young, Fun & Foolish,” just confirms that Robyn is doing it the right way. With the release of his new single, “Heaven Must Be Missing One Angel Tonight,” Robyn is coming full circle. The song produced by Gene Breeden was actually recorded several years ago, but when Charlie Ammerman of Pretty World Records heard the song, he knew it was a winner, making it Robyn’s latest release on Reflect Records/Pretty World Records. Now watching it climb the charts, Robyn comments, “I always thought it was a hit song.”

A gifted songwriter as well writing the chart-topper, “Young, Fun & Foolish,” Robyn has composed several songs to be included on an upcoming album which will also feature his current single, “Heaven Must Be Missing One Angel Tonight.” You can be sure that there will be plenty of steel guitar and twin fiddles on this new production.

Robyn’s career continues to blossom with numerous television appearances including Larry’s Country Diner and Country’s Family Reunion Series as well as concerts around the world highlighted by a tour of Sweden last year with Moe Bandy and the Mavericks and an upcoming tour of Japan with Aaron Tippin and Daryle Singletary.

With Robyn Young’s natural talent and passion for traditional country music, he will be forever “Young!”
